Former Manchester United players and brothers Rafael and Fabio have disclosed that legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson had a pretty tough time while dealing with the twins while they were under his leadership at the club.
The Scottish manager signed the Brazilian full-back brothers from from Brazilian club Fluminense in 2008 and their similar appearances gave quite a few headaches to Sir Alex, who often got the two confused.
Rafael went on to play 169 matches at United whereas Fabio could manage 56 games under the Scotsman and the twins eventually also lifted the Premier League trophy together in the 2010/11 season.

Speaking to FourFourTwo, the twins spoke about how Sir Alex was left confused by the twins' appearance. Rafael said, "It happened many, many times. It wasn’t rare that before training he’d look at me and say: ‘Come on, go to the left wing.’ When that happened, I used to just look at him. Then he’d go: ‘I meant right wing, Rafael!’"
Rafael reiterated his admiration for Sir Alex as he said, "Fergie is a special person in my life. He’s the best manager I’ve ever worked with, no doubt. I learned so many things from him and I will be grateful for that forever. He’d always have some good advice to tell you at training."
Rafael won three Premier League titles, two League Cups and the FIFA Club World Cup with United, before joining Lyon in 2015 while Fabio left Old Trafford for Cardiff City in 2014 and moved on to Middlesbrough two years later.
